What Do All Those Sports Have in Common?

We see sports everywhere: from the simple high school athletic events to the multi-million dollar professional sports franchises. But what is it about sports that makes us want to watch them? Is it the competition, the thrills, the camaraderie or perhaps the fact that we can root for our favorite team? Sports bring us together and bring out the competitive spirit in of us. Whether you are a fan of college football, basketball, baseball or any other sport, you will find that there are various sports that you can get involved in and be part of.

Sports are essentially activities whereby one engages in a contest with others (an athletic competition). A game is usually defined as any kind of competition between two or more individuals. However, the participants can also compete as a team, an individual or even in a recreational sporting event such as a swimming event. Such sports are normally competitive, though sometimes there may be some level of physical contact involved. These sports are usually organised through various levels of physical competition.

There are several different kinds of sports that we all can participate in. One example of this would be the game of tennis, which is one of the most popular sports to watch. As with other games of this nature, the winner is usually either the player with the highest total points or the player who reaches a particular minimum number of points first. For those of us who do not play tennis on a regular basis, we may not realise how much of a mental workout tennis can be for the brain.

There are also many different kinds of non-sport related activities that athletes can take part in. Ice skaters must also be incredibly disciplined, as they have to learn how to skate quickly and move with grace and ease in order to keep up with the fast moving ice on the rink. There are many governing bodies that govern the rules and procedures of ice skating. This helps to ensure that the sport remains safe for the participants.

Another example of a sport that requires both the body and the brain are the many games of Association Football.
